About Our Beds

    Our head & footboards are assembled with hand coped joints.  Each load
    bearing joint is reinforced with a pair of ¾ inch diameter oak dowels.  
    Frequently, we accent the joint intersections with hemp rope for a western
    look.  The solid 2.5 x 6 inch oak side rails are mortised into the head & foot
    boards for a rock solid fit with absolutely no wobble. The rough-cut oak slats
    are a rugged design and fit tightly into slotted grooves in the bed rails.  The
    bed is finished with a 3 coat, hand rubbed and burnished, linseed oil finish
    that will provide lasting durability and a natural rustic finish.
